Greetings friends! Here in the hot days of summer it sure is fun to hang out with some cool people! We had a blast this past Tuesday night at the first annual MOB “Rider Appreciation Night!” Thanks to everyone who came over to do the ride and enjoy the company and refreshments. We here at the MOB sure had a great time and are now only looking forward to the next opportunity to “kick it” on the porch with our friends.
For those interested in the Saturday morning ride, we will meet at the shop at 9 am. This week we will roll out thru Tobaccoville, back to the shop via Lewisville. This will make for a lovely three hour “Town and Country” loop to kick off the weekend. The pace on this ride is a casual 17-20 mph, so it is a very enjoyable affair for riders of all skill and ability levels. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
As to the next opportunity to “chill on the porch,” the Hanes Park Criterium returns to Winston-Salem this Sunday, August 6th. Amateur races begin at 8:45, with the pros taking the course at 3:00. This is a grand old course located right here in the Historic West End. Since the shop is located right on the course, what better place to stop and take in the action then the MOB veranda? The “crew” will be using the porch as its base of operations on race day. Please feel free to swing by and hang out! Also of note on this day is the Baux Mtn. Rd Fun Ride. Led by our friend local legend Jim Conrad and a several pro bike riders, the ride will leave the race venue, specifically the Reynolds Auditorium parking lot off of Hawthorne Road, at 10 am. This will be a great way to grab a little fresh air and get back to the venue in time for the two main events, the pro race and the kid’s race. The kid’s races will begin at 4:40. This is always one of the most exciting events for participants and spectators alike. For more information on the day’s festivities please visit www.nccycling.com or www.cyclesafe.org. We look forward to seeing you all this coming Sunday for the Hanes Park Criterium!

ReplyDeleteI would just like to say THANKS for all the help I got from Mark, Charles and Jay on Sunday. I certainly could not have raced the way the bike was shifting before the mechanical support you guys helped me with. Also, a good time was had by all up on the patio while watching the Pro I, II event. Thanks again Rodney
